Who we are

Re-Sorted is operated as a sole trader in Portugal, based in Lagos, and is responsible for the personal information collected through re-sorted.com. Contact: info@re-sorted.com. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to info@re-sorted.com.

What we collect

When you request a quote, we collect your name, email address, telephone number, location, approximate floor area, floor type and condition, any notes, and the photographs you choose to send. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include in that email. We also receive ordinary technical server logs needed to operate and secure the website.

The quote form also has three optional extras, described below: a “how did you hear about us?” answer, a box for occasional marketing emails and a box for photo permission. When you send the form we also record which of these you chose, together with the date and time, the page it was sent from and the version of the wording you saw.

Why we use it

We use your quote information only to assess the requested work, prepare and discuss a quote, arrange the service when requested, prevent misuse and meet applicable legal obligations. The optional extras are used only as described below. The processing for the quote is necessary to respond to your request and, where a booking follows, to take steps toward and perform the service contract.

Sharing and storage

Information is handled by Re-Sorted and service providers needed to host the website and deliver communications. Quote requests sent through the website are emailed to us and, so that a request isn’t lost if email delivery fails, a copy is also kept in a private, non-public folder on our hosting account. We do not sell personal information or use quote photographs for advertising without separate permission. Quote requests that do not become bookings, including the backup copy, are deleted within 90 days. Records connected to completed services may be retained for the period required by Portuguese tax and legal obligations.

Marketing emails (only if you opt in)

If you tick the optional box on the quote form, we send floor-care tips and seasonal reminders, at most one email a month. Ticking it is never needed to get a quote. Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email or by replying “stop” to info@re-sorted.com. Withdrawing does not affect anything done before. We keep a record of when and how you consented (date and time, the page, and the wording shown) and, after you unsubscribe, a record of your opt-out so that we respect it.

Customers

After a completed job we may email you about similar floor services, such as a seasonal clean, as Portuguese e-privacy law (Lei n.º 41/2004) allows for existing customers. Every such email lets you opt out, and you can also opt out at the time you book.

Business contacts

We may email companies (not individuals or sole traders) at business addresses they publish, about services relevant to them, for example property management or building firms. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Sources: company websites and public company registers. Every message says who we are and how to opt out. You can object at any time by writing to info@re-sorted.com and we will stop and keep your address only so that we do not contact you again.

How you heard about us

The quote form lets you say how you found us (Google, Bing, Apple Maps, a recommendation, an email from us or other). This is optional. We keep the answer with the quote so we know which channels work, based on our legitimate interest in running the business sensibly.

Photo permission

If you tick the optional photo box, we may use before and after photos of your floor on re-sorted.com and on social media, without your name or address. This is optional, is based on your consent, and does not affect your quote. We do not use quote photographs for anything like that without it. You can withdraw permission at any time by writing to info@re-sorted.com. We will then stop using the photos and remove them from our own site and accounts; we cannot control copies already shared by others.

Service providers

Website hosting and our mailbox are provided by Hostinger. Google Analytics runs only if you accept it (see below). We plan to manage contacts and send emails with an email and customer-records service, HighLevel (operated by LeadConnector, USA). That applies only once we start using it, and from then on opted-in contacts and enquiries may be stored there. Information is never moved outside the European Economic Area unless a safeguard required by Chapter V of the GDPR is in place. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep data

• Quote requests that do not become bookings: deleted within 90 days.
• Records of completed services: for the period required by Portuguese tax and legal obligations.
• Marketing consent records and opt-out records: for as long as needed to respect your choice and to show when and how you gave it.
• Business-contact records with no reply: deleted 12 months after our last contact.
• Photos you gave permission to use: for as long as they are on our site or accounts, unless you withdraw permission.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing where applicable, including objecting to marketing at any time. Where we rely on your consent (marketing emails, photo permission), you can withdraw it at any time without giving a reason. Contact info@re-sorted.com. You may also complain to Portugal’s Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Map on the Locations page

The map on our Locations page loads map images from OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org), which receives your IP address and browser details when the map is shown. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

Cookies & analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited, how people arrive (search, links, email) and whether the price calculator or quote form is used. It runs only if you click Accept in the cookie banner. Until then no analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookies are set. We do not use advertising cookies, Google signals or ad personalisation.

• What is collected: pages viewed, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, referring site and events such as using the calculator, clicking an email link, and a completed quote request with the guide price and floor type. We never send your name, email, phone number, address or photos to Google.
• Cookies: _ga and _ga_W4Q0TFWR5N, set by Google Analytics on re-sorted.com after you accept; they expire after up to 2 years unless you withdraw consent earlier. Your choice itself is stored in your browser (local storage, rs_consent) for 6 months.
• Google as processor: Google Ireland Limited processes this data for us under Google’s data processing terms. Data may be transferred to the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Google’s standard contractual clauses.
• IP addresses: Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses; it uses them only briefly to derive an approximate location, and EU traffic is handled on EU servers before that step.
• Retention: analytics data is kept for 14 months and then deleted automatically.
• Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the Portuguese ePrivacy rules). Saying no has no effect on using the site or requesting a quote.
• Withdraw or change your choice at any time with Cookie settings (also in the footer of every page). If you withdraw, tracking stops immediately and the Google Analytics cookies are deleted from your browser.
